History

The puzzle is documented in the French magazine Mercure galant in 1697. Pegs and marbles are two ways to play the same jumping puzzle. Regional names include Brainvita in India, Senku in Spanish and Resta Um in Portuguese. Hi-Q is a historical commercial name; the familiar restaurant triangle is also sold by Cracker Barrel.
